Days later, the pigeon receives a post

A dramatic return to New York involved a socialist train system, tears, american express, and an enigmatic cab driver comfortable with the shoulder of the highway. Settled back at the homefront, I recieve an email from Nichole with pictures from my last afternoon. Monet, I know you dreamed of a girl dressed in black to liven up those drab water lilies for you.

Oh, the chocolate, the coffee, the frites, the bottines! Paris, Teddy sends his regards.

P.S. Followers of the straightening iron saga will be relieved to read that although little black beauty did not enjoy Paris as I did, she seems to be willing to give me a second, *cautionary* chance in New York. However, I'm happy to see that wavy hair is in for now. If you happen to disagree, you should note that I'd prefer not to be enlightened.

Merci Nichole! Elle nous manquons!

Kir Royal

*Here* are a few pictures from my last 2 full days in Paris. SVP - Be patient with me and my archaeological interests. Also, I wish I had guidebook capabilities, but for goodness' sake, it took the Gauls 200 years to build Notre Dame. I can't possibly expect my little canon to fully appreciate its masterwork in just one afternoon. Nonetheless, I did my best.

I'm going to bed. Tomorrow, a New York!! Au revoir, fair Parisiis. It's been a trip, for sure.

P.S. Here's a link to Nancy's Paris photos, sans captions for now.

Groan, j'ai mal a la tete.

Today I am afflicted with either a post-Buddha Bar or pre-snowstorm headache, and consequently have been huddling by the heater drinking coffee and only somewhat pitying myself. Here, though, are some pictures from the past couple of days, of me and Nance.

For (a mildly awkwardly translated version of) an interesting history of Paris, which describes some of the areas in our pictures, like the Palais de Justice and Sainte-Chapelle, look here.

Later, skaters.

Oh, I know.....

Today: the Louvre. Here Nancy and I are joined by Lamassu, a new Assyrian friend. He is a Horse-legged Genie Protector (undoubtedly the best kind), and he manned the gates to the Sargon City with dignity for about 2,600 years, until a French archaeologist thought he might do better guarding the Seine from that particularly anti-French breed of invader, the English tourist. Well planned; we encountered many a Highlander today, dressed in a kilt and singing through the streets. Why, you ask? No one is certain. Perhaps in an attempt to outdo tomorrow's drunken Irish revelry.

If you like, you may view les autres photos du jour *ici.* Il n'ya pas trop. For some reason, the colors look nicer if you regardez them with the slideshow.

For a wikipedian (and clearer) picture of Lamassu, the winged bull, look here. Since we got along so well, I'm thinking of booking him for my next flight to Europe.

Boots not made for walkin.

Bonjour! Rome, be patient with me, because my Prada boots shall rest tomorrow, when I jaunt about town in my new slouchy bottines. Off to the Cluny, I say! Bring your chocolatines.

(Vous pouvez trouver mes photos ici! But first, directions, please, to view my photography as I intend: Click slideshow. You may want to click pause, and then use the arrows to move at your own pace. If the captions don't work, click *Hide Captions* and then *Show Captions* and they should appear. After all, a slideshow without captions is so ennuyeux.)
